Annisul unveils manifesto: Promises to make Dhaka green, clean

Annisul Huq, the Awami League-blessed mayor candidate for the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) elections, has promised to make capital Dhaka a clean, green and enlightened city. The former BGMEA President made the pledge while unveiling his six-point election manifesto through a power point presentation at his office at the Lotus Kamal Tower in the capital on Saturday.

Annisul Huq: An enlightened soul

For his honesty, candour and integrity, Annisul Huq was not only an icon in politics but also an idol among Bangladeshi youth. He is known for his multifarious interests in culture, business and literature. He passed away on 30 November, 2017, in a London hospital, leaving his family, friends and well-wishers in great sorrow. He was only 65.

Priority traffic management decisions remain in papers

All the decisions made in coordination meetings of service agencies since 2016 to effectively manage Dhaka roads and traffic only remained in papers. At least eight such coordination meetings were held led by both of the city mayors after Prime Minister’s office had published a circular empowering them to coordinate all the service providing agencies in Bangladesh's capital city.

Annisul: 22 U-loops soon from Gazipur to Dhaka

A total of 22 U-loops will be constructed from Dhaka’s Saatrasta intersection to Chourasta of Gazipur district to ease traffic jam, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq has said. To implement the project, a decision was taken in this regard, the mayor told the reporters on Sunday.

Book of condolence for Annisul Huq unveiled at Digital World 2017

A book of condolence commemorating late mayor of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Annisul Huq was unveiled at the Digital World 2017 tech expo, at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka. Visitors at the expo signed and wrote remarks in the book to mourn the passing of the beloved mayor.

Mayor Annisul Huq’s transport plan may be our best bet I am somewhat relieved to see the government suddenly pull out of the dusty shelf the transport consolidation plan put together by the late businessman Annisul Huq, whose entrepreneurial background had led to his appointment as the DNCC chief.
