Thank you Mr. Mayor

In a major step towards easing the city's crippling traffic congestion, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has freed the Shyamoli-Aminbazar road in the capital from illegal parking. With the DNCC initiative, the road, which remained crammed with buses and trucks parked haphazardly, has now got a refreshingly new look, much to the relief of city commuters.

A walk down memory lane

Neatly brushed hair, dressed in bell-bottoms, paired with straight pointed collar shirts, and a bright, wide smile. A city father who left his mark

2024-03-19T06:52:44+00:00

Thank you mayor Annisul Huq for showing us what a city father could do if he had the vision, capability and resolve to improve a city. Sad that you died too early and too suddenly. Tomorrow will be a year since you left us, while on the path to make your dream come true.

Legacy of a promising mayor

2024-03-19T06:48:49+00:00

After assuming office in July 2015, the late mayor Annisul Huq only wanted a few years to change Dhaka city and we, the city dwellers, were keenly observing his ambitious plans and wondering if those plans were at all achievable. To our surprise and delight, he had materialised many of his plans that once seemed unrealistic to many.

Muri-Makhay-Pherey-Asha

Conversations end with half nibbled canapés, strewn all across the coffee tables signs of half hearted consumptions in a space where food matters the least and discourses the most of attempting expected, yet redundant discourses including grief and distress; somehow, condolences come in strangely familiar forms of…conveying what a man he was!
