রাজনীতির অঙ্গনে ধূমকেতুর মতো আবির্ভাব হয়েছিল ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি করপোরেশনের প্রয়াত মেয়র আনিসুল হকের। রাজনীতিতে আসার আগে বরেণ্য এই মানুষটি পরিচিত ছিলেন সফল একজন ব্যবসায়ী হিসেবে। এ ছাড়া বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশনের উপস্থাপক ও সঞ্চালক হিসেবে সুখ্যাতি ছিল চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অর্থনীতি বিভাগ থেকে পাস করা এই নেতার।
ছোট-বড় কয়েকটি ফ্লাইওভার ও ইউলুপের সুফল পেলেও মেট্রোরেল, বৃত্তাকার নৌপথ, রেলপথ, সড়কপথ, ঢাকা এলিভেটেড এক্সপ্রেসওয়ে, শান্তিনগর-ঝিলমিল ফ্লাইওভারের সুফল পেতে আরও অপেক্ষা করতে হবে রাজধানীবাসীকে।
ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মেয়র আনিসুল হকের প্রথম মৃত্যুবার্ষিকীতে তার স্মরণে পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে মরহুমের আত্মার মাগফেরাত কামনা করে বিশেষ দোয়া মাহফিল অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। শুক্রবার (৩০ নভেম্বর) বাদ আসর গুলশান কেন্দ্রীয় মসজিদে (আজাদ মসজিদ) এ দোয়া মাহফিল হয়।
আদর্শ নেতা একটি সমাজকে পরিবর্তন করতে পারেন। যেমনটা করছেন প্রয়াত মেয়র আনিসুল হক। যিনি তার নেতৃত্বে পরিবর্তন করেছেন ব্যবসায়ীক সংগঠন। যখন যেটা করতে চেয়েছেন যেকোনো মূল্যে সেটা তিনি করে দেখিয়েছেন। যার দৃষ্টান্ত ঢাকা উত্তর সিটি কর্পোরেশনের উন্নয়ন।
প্রয়াত মেয়র আনিসুল হকের অন্যতম উদ্যোগ ছিল সবুজ ঢাকা কার্যক্রম। তিনি আড়াই বছর মেয়রের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। ঢাকাকে একটি পরিচ্ছন্ন ও মানবিক নগর হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার কাজ করেছেন। তার এই কাজকে এগিয়ে নিতে ভ্রাম্যমাণ গাছের হাসপাতাল কার্যক্রম শুরু করেছেন গ্রিন সেভারস অ্যাসোসিয়েশন নামের একটি স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংগঠন।

Surprisingly true that both Steve Jobs and Annisul Huq had a very sudden end to their lives. Annisul Huq was an enlightened personality and successful in business and cultural life, speakers have said. They were speaking at a memorial discussion on occasion of first death anniversary of Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq organized by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) at its auditorium in the city yesterday.
Thank you mayor Annisul Huq for showing us what a city father could do if he had the vision, capability and resolve to improve a city. Sad that you died too early and too suddenly. Tomorrow will be a year since you left us, while on the path to make your dream come true.
After assuming office in July 2015, the late mayor Annisul Huq only wanted a few years to change Dhaka city and we, the city dwellers, were keenly observing his ambitious plans and wondering if those plans were at all achievable. To our surprise and delight, he had materialised many of his plans that once seemed unrealistic to many.
Charming presenter, entrepreneur and the dynamic mayor of DCC, it seemed Annisul Huq had the Midas touch. His winning personality and can-do, must-do approach to life will be missed by all who knew him and by all those who have never met him. His tireless work on improving the city we live in and the cultural world we love touched more people than he probably imagined.
