Mayor Annisul’s body arrives today

The body of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq will be brought to Dhaka by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight today. He will be buried at Banani graveyard in the capital following a namaz-e-janaza at Army Stadium after Asr prayers on Saturday.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Anisul Huq died in a London hospital on Thursday night, private satellite channel Ekattor TV reports quoting its London correspondent. He breathed his last at Bangladesh time 10:30pm on Thursday night (4:30pm London time) at Wellington Hospital, family members confirmed the matter to the media.

Satrasta-Karwan Bazar road renamed after Mayor Annisul

The road from Karwan Bazar to Satrasta in the city’s Tejgaon area has been renamed Mayor Annisul Huq Sarak. In the 21st board meeting of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on December 11 last year, the decision to change the name of the road was taken to pay tribute to late DNCC mayor Annisul Huq, said a press release of DNCC on Sunday.

Mayor Annisul hospitalised in London

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq is being treated at the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital in London. Bangladesh High Commission’s Minister (press) Nadeem Qadir said that he has been diagnosed with cerebral vasculitis which is inflammation of the blood vessel wall involving the brain.

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) remembered its former Mayor Annisul Huq on Monday, marking his third death anniversary. On behalf of DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam, its Secretary Rabindra Sri Barua paid homage to the late mayor by placing a wreath at his Banani graveyard.

The first death anniversary of Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq is being observed today (Friday). Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) holds a memorial discussion at its auditorium at 3 pm today (Thursday). Annisul, who had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in London, breathed his last there on November 30 at the age of 65.

Mayor Annisul Huq road turns into parking place of trucks!

Hundreds of trucks and other vehicles are parked illegally on both sides of Mayor Annisul Huq road in the capital's Tejgaon Industrial Area every day, turning into the whole area a parking place again. A group of influential grabbers have occupied roads and free spaces in the area and are keeping trucks, covered vans, pick-ups and other types of vehicles in a random way. As a result, movement of vehicles and pedestrians has become difficult on different roads around Tejgaon area.
