Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Annisul Huq, who was admitted to a London hospital, is now out of danger as his health condition has improved slightly, said AKM Mizanur Rahman, assistant personal secretary of the mayor.

Doctors want to wake him up from ‘medically-induced sedation’ in a normal way.

Popular TV host Dr Abdun Noor Tushar provided the update in a facebook post on Thursday morning, saying that it is a complex process.

“Doctors will keep working to bring back normalcy in his body gradually. We expect he’ll respond to medicines strongly,” Dr Tushar said mentioning that he was given the responsibility to convey the updates to all.

The other treatment processes will also continue, he added.

Annisul, suffering from neurological problem (dizziness and lack of balance) for the last two months, was admitted to the hospital on August 13. He was then diagnosed with cerebral vasculitis at the hospital.

On July 29, the DNCC mayor went to London to visit his daughter who gave birth to a child on August 8.

On Friday, Annisul went to a London hospital as he was not feeling well. During the diagnosis, he fell unconscious. Doctors found inflammation of the blood vessel wall in his brain, according to one of his aides.

Annisul Huq took oath as the DNCC mayor on May 6, 2015.
