Officials and councilors of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) paid tributes to late mayor Annisul Huq on his fifth death anniversary on Wednesday.
Md Jamal Mostafa, DNCC panel mayor and councilor from Ward No 4, and Md Selim Reza, the chief executive officer, among others, placed a bouquet at the grave of the late mayor in the capital’s Banani graveyard.
Later, they took part in a prayer seeking eternal peace for Annisul.
A special prayer was also held at the DNCC Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan on Wednesday, marking Annisul’s death anniversary.
On November 30, 2017, Annisul passed away in a London hospital. He was 65.
Annisul was the president of several apex bodies, including the BGMEA, Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Bangladesh Independent Power Producers Association (BIPPA).
