The doctors were scheduled to start the meeting at 5pm on Wednesday local time (11pm BdST), his wife Rubana Huq told bdnews24.com.
She said she was hopeful about her husband’s condition improving.
On Tuesday, Rubana said Annisul was once again put under intensive care after being down with infection at the hospital where he is getting treated for almost four months now.
On July 29, Annisul flew to the UK for a family visit. While going through medical tests at a hospital in London in mid-August, he lost consciousness and was taken to the ICU.
Doctors had diagnosed Annisul with cerebral vasculitis—an inflammation of the blood vessel wall involving the brain. Amid rumours running high, the Dhaka North City Corporation said on Oct 31 that the mayor was getting better.
In a statement, the mayor’s office dismissed online media reports and speculations on the social media over his condition as ‘baseless and misleading’.
His wife Rubana also later took to the internet to brush aside media reports and speculations.
Annisul was elected Dhaka North City mayor on a ruling Awami League ticket in 2015.
He had served as president of Bangladesh’s apex trade body FBCCI during the military-installed caretaker administration.
Prior to that, he also headed the trade body of apparel makers and exporters, BGMEA.
