The ventilator of Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq, now in a London hospital ICU, will be removed at a convenient time on Thursday (local time) as doctors want to wake him up from ‘medically-induced sedation’ in a normal way.
Abdun Noor Tushar, a popular TV host of Bangladesh, provided the update in a Facebook post in the morning saying it is a complex process.
‘Doctors will keep working to bring back normalcy in his body gradually. We expect that he will respond to medicines strongly,’ Tushar said mentioning that he was given the responsibility to convey the updates to all.
The other treatment processes will also continue, he added.
Minister (press) at Bangladesh high commission in London, Nadeem Qadir, told the news agency that Annisul’s condition was stable.
He said one of the world’s best specialists in this field is taking care of him but declined to mention the name of the hospital showing respect to Annisul’s family wish.
Annisul, suffering from neurological problem (dizziness and lack of balance) for the last two months, was admitted to the hospital on August 13. He was then diagnosed with cerebral vasculitis at the hospital. Annisul flew to London in the last week of July on a personal tour.
