Annisul Huq, Rouf Chy may contest for president
Former BGMEA president Annisul Huq was declared nominated director of FBCCI yesterday as the election board of the apex trade body published the list of valid candidates to contest its upcoming election. On the other hand, President of Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association MA Rouf Chowdhury will have to win a direct voting to become FBCCI director as he was declared a valid candidate to contest the election.
Annisul Huq elected FBCCI president
Annisul Huq was elected president unopposed of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) yesterday, as MA Rouf Chowdhury proposed Annisul's name instead of vying for the post. Prior to the FBCCI polls, Rouf had declared his candidature for the top post of the apex trade body.

Annisul Huq-led panel was leading in the biennial election to the country's apex trade body, the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), held yesterday. According to the latest results, out of 12 posts of FBCCI directors, 11 were clinched by candidates from Annisul's chamber-group panel while rival MA Rouf Chowdhury-led panel got only one post.

DNCC mayoral post declared vacant
The government has declared the mayoral post of Dhaka North City Corporation vacant after death of its mayor Annisul Huq. The local government ministry today published a gazette in this regard saying that the DNCC mayoral post fell vacant on December 1. According to the electoral law, the Election Commission can hold a by-poll to elect the city’s mayor for the vacant post within 90 days for the rest tenure of the DNCC.
Annisul collects nomination form
Eminent businessman Annisul Huq today collected a nomination form to join the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral race. The former president of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) bought the form around 3:40pm from the returning officer’s office at Agargaon.
