The authorities of Daffodil International University (DIU) announced plans to introduce a study centre named after late Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq and also an award in his honour.

The university will introduce “Annisul Huq Study Centre” and “Daffodil Change Maker Award” to preserve the memory of Annisul Huq, says a press release.

Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice-Chancellor of the DIU, made the announcement at a “Meet the Press” programme at the university’s 71 Audotorium in the capital on Tuesday.

Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director of Student Affairs, Samiha Khan, Director, Daffodil Family and Ejaju Ur Rahman Sajal of Daffodil Family also spoke on the occasion.

The study centre will be inaugurated on the day of its 7th convocation on January, 2018. It will be a domain to attain multiple purposes and will house a photo gallery and books written on and by Annisul Huq. The centre will also be equipped with a seminar hall with all required facilities.
