The development projects taken up by Dhaka North Mayor Annisul Huq have come to a standstill after his demise. Huq took some bold steps to renovate Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Some of his initiatives are still on at a slow speed.
Shishu Mela returns as Wonderland
Dhaka North City Cor-poration (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq yesterday formally reopened the children's amusement park in Shyamoli, formerly known as Shishu Mela, but now rebranded 'DNCC Won-derland". Senior DNCC officials and managing director of the lessee company GM Mostafizur Rahman were present in the function.
Better Dhaka’ in 3 years
Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Annisul Huq on Monday said the city dwellers will see a different Dhaka within the next three years as they are working hard to modernize the city. U-loop project sees light
To minimize traffic congestion in the capital, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq declared construction a total of 21U-loop from Gazipur to Satrasta. The announcement came out nearly two years ago, while the promised construction time also ran out. Recently, the project sees light after managing several difficulties.

Annisul Huq, besides the echelon of his mayoral designation, was extensively popular with millions of people across Bangladesh as a television anchor. He hosted a great deal of programs on Bangladesh Television (BTV) during the previous decades on various occasions which made him widely famous and applauded among the Bangladeshi audiences who used to watch BTV during those years.
Women’s holiday market in every ward: Annisul
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq said women's holiday markets would be set up in every ward of the corporation in phases. DNCC is committed to rehabilitate the women entrepreneurs, he said yesterday while inaugurating a women's holiday market in city's Mohakhali area.
DNCC frees footpaths around Australian chancery in Dhaka
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) freed the footpaths around the Australian High Commission in Dhaka conducting an eviction drive yesterday. The second drive of DNCC was launched as the commission did not remove iron poles on the walkways, said DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq.

Dhaka North City Corporation's (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq successfully carried out a tough job in 2015 by evicting illegal settlements from Tejgaon bus stand. He also removed thousands of billboards from different parts of Dhaka city which comes under his mayoral jurisdiction.
Annisul to make footpath hawker-free soon
Dhaka, 20 Jan- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor M Annisul Huq on Wednesday said footpaths along major roads in the city, including Mirpur, New Airport and Panthapath Road, will be freed by demolishing illegal makeshift establishments by April next. The mayor came up with the assurance while addressing a program at Bangladesh University in the capital.
End of the dream
Annisul Huq came to the spotlight after becoming Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation from a successful businessman and TV anchor. Though Annisul Huq was not an active politician, he was elected as the mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation in 2015 with the ticket of the ruling Awami League with the slogan 'clean, safe and smart city'. He had a dream to make Dhaka city livable.
