Better Dhaka’ in 3 years

Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Annisul Huq on Monday said the city dwellers will see a different Dhaka within the next three years as they are working hard to modernize the city. "I hope this (DNCC) family will work hard in the coming days and you'll see a different Dhaka within the next three years," he said mentioning that DNCC with the help of political leaders

U-loop project sees light

To minimize traffic congestion in the capital, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq declared construction a total of 21U-loop from Gazipur to Satrasta. The announcement came out nearly two years ago, while the promised construction time also ran out. Recently, the project sees light after managing several difficulties.

Annisul Huq, besides the echelon of his mayoral designation, was extensively popular with millions of people across Bangladesh as a television anchor. He hosted a great deal of programs on Bangladesh Television (BTV) during the previous decades on various occasions which made him widely famous and applauded among the Bangladeshi audiences who used to watch BTV during those years.

Annisul to make footpath hawker-free soon

Dhaka, 20 Jan- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor M Annisul Huq on Wednesday said footpaths along major roads in the city, including Mirpur, New Airport and Panthapath Road, will be freed by demolishing illegal makeshift establishments by April next. The mayor came up with the assurance while addressing a program at Bangladesh University in the capital.

End of the dream

Annisul Huq came to the spotlight after becoming Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation from a successful businessman and TV anchor. Though Annisul Huq was not an active politician, he was elected as the mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation in 2015 with the ticket of the ruling Awami League with the slogan 'clean, safe and smart city'. He had a dream to make Dhaka city livable.
