Doctors in London tonight officially declared Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq dead, said assistant personal secretary of the mayor. The 65-year-old mayor was pronounced dead around 10:23pm (BST), AKM Mizanur Rahman, the assistant personal secretary of the mayor, told The Daily Star.
News portals spreading propaganda about mayor
A number of online news portals had been running baseless and misleading reports about Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq, said the DNCC yesterday. Annisul's family members requested all to be aware that misleading information about the mayor was being circulated, said the DNCC in its first ever press release about the mayor's health.

Annisul laid to rest
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq was buried at Banani graveyard in the capital this afternoon. He was laid to rest beside the graves of his mother and son around 5:30pm amid hundreds of followers shedding their tears. Earlier, people from all walks of life, including ministers, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and political leaders paid their last tributes to the mayor.
